Title: Set of Six ( 6 ) Bespoke CH24 Wishbone Dining Chairs in Oak & Leather by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn, Denmark, c. 1960s
About: Introducing a rare, limited set of bespoke custom-restored authentic Model CH24 Wishbone chairs designed by the incomparable Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. Featuring new hand-stitched leather seats in a fabulous hazelnut brown tone perfectly coupled with hand-sanded solid-oak frames left unfinished this set is the epitome of extraordinary. Unquestionably the Wishbone is the most recognizable chair model of the 20th and 21st Centuries designed by the undisputed master of chair design; Hans Wegner. This reimagined, authentic set of Danish-made Model CH24's has been a passion project by our restoration team in homage of the late great Hans Wegner and the dedicated artisans who created this masterpiece of modern design.
Among all furniture designers, Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) is considered one of the most creative, innovative, and prolific especially amongst his Scandinavian counterparts. Often referred to as the master of the chair, Wegner created almost 500 in his lifetime – many of them now considered masterpieces. Wegner was part of the spectacular generation that created what is today referred to as the Golden Age of modern Danish design.
His iconic Wishbone Chair, designed in 1948, is probably the most well-known and has been in continuous production since 1950. Inspired by the seats of the Royal Ming Dynasty the Wishbone is made up of 14 separate components which require 100 individual processes to chisel, carve, sand, and shape, adding nearly three weeks of preparation time before the chair can even begin to be assembled.
With their sleek, ergonomically-minded wooden frames sanded natural and new hand-stitched leather seats this truly one-of-a-kind set is perfect for designers and collectors alike searching for an expansive set of authentically vintage, Danish-made Wishbone chairs with their own unique, BOLD character. Make them yours today before they're literally gone forever.

Condition Details: This iconic set of Model CH24 Wishbone chairs has recently undergone a comprehensive and transformative restoration process and the results speak for themselves.
The solid oak frames have been hand-sanded and left unfinished, giving these ubiquitous chairs a sense of definition and character. The wood shows only minor nicks and surface scratches but no stains, cracks or damage whatsoever.
The seats have been re-strapped and reupholstered in a rich, thick-cut genuine leather hide in a fabulous hazelnut brown tone perfectly off-setting the natural wood tones of the solid oak frames. The seams were hand-stitched and like a snowflake, each seat is unique from its counterparts in the set.
This bespoke, custom-designed and hand-restored set is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use.
