The solid walnut frames, ebonized in a silky jet-black finish, are in excellent shape showing only minor nicks and light surface scratches (the worst of which can be seen in the photos provided) but showing no gouges or stains. The original caning is also in superb original condition showing no tears, rips or stains whatsoever and all four chairs are entirely weight-bearing.
