Audacious in it's scope, shape and materials used this sofa is a true American masterpiece. Featuring the original Jack Lenor Larsen upholstery this sofa is simultaneously artistically complex, yet subtle - the perfect love child born of two of America's greatest artisans of the mid-century period. The veneered American black walnut base shows exceptional old-growth woodgrains that are breathtaking from all angles and perfectly offset by the trademark flat-black base.
Born in 1925 Adrian Pearsall began designing and building furniture in 1952 with his company named 'Craft Associates' which started first in his home shop and grew to a company with more than 650 craftsmen and employees. Pearsall’s work not only helped define Mid-Century Modern but also the idea that function does not have to be sacrificed for beauty. With most furniture before the mid-century being highly ornate and lacking in utilitarian use, his work was a much welcomed change. Clean lines, organic shapes, and black American walnut wood are just a few elements often found in Pearsall’s furniture and all are on display with this magnificent platform sofa.

Condition Details: Save for a few minor veneer repairs this extraordinary Boomerang Platform sofa is in original, vintage condition. The original Jack Lenor Larsen upholstery does show some signs of wear such as small stains and areas of discoloration (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said there are no rips, fraying or odors present whatsoever. We do offer re-upholstery services, if this interests you please message us prior to checkout to discuss pricing and options.
The American black walnut veneer shows only light scratches and small repairs (both of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said the wood is in overall very good condition and shows no gouges, stains or other damage whatsoever and the woodgrains are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light.
This expansive sofa is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a decades more of use. Please view all photos for details on this boomerang's current condition. Larger Items – Larger items will be shipped via a blanket wrap S&H service with delivery to the curb of your delivery location. Each item(s) will be insured up to $1000 to cover any potential repairs from potential damage sustained in transit. Additional insurance can be added at $35 per $1000 and must be paid prior to checkout. Additionally, it will be your responsibility to accommodate the delivery company at the point of delivery. If you fail to accommodate the delivery company’s scheduled delivery time slot, your order may require a secondary S&H charge as storage fees and additional delivery attempt(s) are not covered in this shipping quote.
PREMIUM S&H
Smaller Items – Smaller items will be professionally packaged, fully insured and shipped via a ground shipment via FedEx or ground carrier and require signature confirmation at delivery. After a failed delivery attempt(s) by the carrier, you may be required to pick up your package from a designated pickup location.
Larger Items – Larger items will be shipped via a white glove carrier with delivery and placement services. Each item(s) will be insured up to $1000 to cover any potential repairs from potential damage sustained in transit. Additional insurance can be added at $35 per $1000 paid prior to be paid prior to checkout. It will be your responsibility to accommodate the delivery company at the point of delivery. If you are unable to accommodate the delivery company at the initial delivery attempt you will have up to 30 days to reschedule delivery with free storage. After 30 days, storage fees will be assessed as determined by the third party storage facility or shipper’s storage facility. If your building requires a certificate of insurance, there is an additional $150.
