Featuring a bentwood frame, similar to those of Thonet's now iconic bentwood catalogue, this chair's only marking was a tag dated "05/31/1958" and was likely produced by a small furniture maker or built as a custom set. Recently and painstakingly restored the frame consists of solid maple wood, gently bent at the leg mid-points creating an elegant hourglass shape. The upholstery, redone in a genuine Italian leather suede leather hide, perfectly offsets the blonde wood tones of the maple creating an altogether alluring chair that captures the eye and attention in any room it inhabits.

Condition Details: This alluring bentwood chair has recently undergone a comprehensive restoration process featuring new genuine Italian leather suede upholstery. The solid maple wood frame and legs have been hand sanded and re-finished and left in it's original, natural wood tone and hand-polished with natural wax and shows no discernable wear with no scratches, gouges or stains present whatsoever. With that said the frame of the chair is slightly bent and can be seen subtly in the detail photos provided, especially when viewed from behind the chair. This bend does NOT affect the comfort or structural integrity of the chair whatsoever.
The upholstery, redone a fabulous genuine Italian suede hide, has been hand-sewn and features new support straps as well as medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity.
