About: Introducing a rare and limited two-tier side table in teak by Kurt Østervig for Jason Møbler, crafted in the 1960's in Denmark. This now iconic table is constructed from a mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood grain and unique coloration. Danish furniture designer Kurt Østervig (1912-1986) began his career as a naval architect before changing career paths in favor of design. Østervig worked for manufacturer E. Knudsen before opening his own studio in 1947 where he continued to work as a freelance designer for the rest of his career, collaborating with an array of Danish furniture brands in the mid-century era, including Bernh, Pedersen & Son, Bramin, Jason, Rolschau, Sibast, and Vamo, to name but a few.

Condition Details: This exquisite two-tier end table, designed by Kurt Østervig, has recently undergone a partial restoration. The mix of solid and veneered teak composition does show some signs of vintage wear; chiefly some veneer warping and minor discoloration which can be seen clearly in the photos provided. With that said this table is still in overall good condition with only minor nicks and light surface scratches present in addition to veneer damage.

The bottom table top measures 17.5" in height whilst the top measures 24.25" in height.
