Audacious in its design and materials utilized this extraordinary Danish-made credenza is as functional as it is visually arresting. Constructed from a mix of solid and matchbook-veneered wood this striking sideboard is ideal for collectors and designers alike who are limited in space but unwilling to compromise on style and functionality. Featuring a fully functioning single tambour door, a finished back, and an adjustable shelf all replete with exceptional old-growth variegated woodgrains unique to the wood. This versatile piece in many ways represents the zenith of Danish Modern Design.

Marius Byrialsen was a highly regarded Danish furniture designer best known for his collaborative office and residential furniture designs produced by the manufacturer Nipu Møbelfabrik (often simply referred to as Nipu) during the 1960s and 1970s. His work epitomizes the Scandinavian Modern aesthetic, marrying highly functional modularity with clean geometric lines and premium materials such as Burmese teak. Byrialsen is widely recognized for his large, high-end executive desks.

Beyond desks, however, he designed an extensive array of office storage solutions, including low sideboards, credenzas, filing cabinets, and wall units. Many of his cabinets are distinguished by their functional tambour doors, meticulous veneer matching, and finished backs that allowed the storage pieces to float freely as room dividers rather than just being pushed against a wall.

The devil is truly in the details in this piece. The interior is beautifully finished, even the shelf is matchbook-veneered. To add extra detail to the design, the legs are pulled slightly under the sideboard to account for skirting, making it possible to place the piece close to the wall. The finished back allows the piece to be used as a room divider adding to the aesthetic versatility of this extraordinary piece. Ideal for both designers and collectors alike this incredibly rare and well-made credenza is sure to make a BOLD appearance in any space it inhabits. Make it yours today before it's gone forever.

Origin: Denmark

Proof: Ample Provenance - Industry Consensus

Period: 1960s

Material: Wood

State: As-Is (Tastefully Aged)

Condition Details: This petite Danish-made credenza is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection!
