Plycraft was an American furniture manufacturer founded in the 1940s, known for producing high-quality and stylish furniture. The company was particularly well known for its chairs and ottomans, which were often designed by leading designers of the time, including George Mulhauser. Plycraft was considered one of the most important furniture manufacturers of the mid-twentieth century, and their designs were often compared to those of Charles and Ray Eames.

Condition Details: This exceptional ottoman by George Mulhauser for Plycraft has recently undergone a comprehensive and transformative restoration process. The walnut plywood has been completely refinished and shows some veneer repairs which can be seen in the detail photos provided. The steel frame has been sandblasted and powder coated in a flat black paint in accordance with the original color.

The upholstery, redone in a fabulous thick-cut genuine leather hide and dyed a vintage mustard yellow, is in superb showroom condition showing only the imperfections of a once live animal. The footrest swivels 360 degrees without issue and is the perfect pairing to the Iconic Plycraft 'Mr. Chair'. This ottoman is comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos for details on this footrest's current condition.
